A Nevada judge set bail yesterday for the former football star on charges stemming from Simpson’s confrontation last week with sports memorabilia collectors. The defense and prosecution agreed on the bail amount, which was confirmed at a brief hearing before Justice Court Judge Joseph Bonaventure.

Simpson, who was released in the early afternoon. He planned on returning to his Florida home, his lawyer, Yale Galanter, said during a televised news conference.

Fifty-three-year-old Bruce Fromong of North Las Vegas is in the intensive care ward at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Hospital spokeswoman Simi Singer says Fromong was admitted Monday night after having what’s described as a “massive” heart attack.

OJ Simpson, best known for his acquittal in the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman, now faces up to a 30-year sentence after his arrest Sunday in a Las Vegas hotel. (more…)

TMZ.com has obtained an audio copy of the shock OJ Simpson robbery that transpired this past Thursday night at the Palace Station Hotel in Las Vegas. Listen Here (the language on this tape may not be suitable for all listeners).

The audiotape was recorded by Thomas Riccio, who co-owns the auction house Universal Rarities. Riccio met up with Simpson before the confrontation at the Palace Station Casino on Thursday night.

“We’re told Riccio was on hand to help Simpson prove certain memorabilia being auctioned by Alfred Beardsley was ill-gotten. Riccio says he believed Simpson was going to confront Beardsley in the hotel room to give him an ultimatum — either hand over the goods or Simpson would call the cops.”

Riccio turned his digital voice recorder on before the men entered the room. The group included Simpson and four other men. Almost immediately, Simpson went wild, hurling profanities at Beardsley and another memorabilia dealer, Bruce Fromong.

The confrontation lasts six minutes. It is graphic and telling. Simpson repeatedly says, “Don’t let nobody out of here.”

“Think you can steal my s— and sell it?”.

How the audiotape ended up in the hands of TMZ.com is not known to us. OJ Simpson will probably not have a bail hearing until Tuesday morning.

Police say Walter Alexander was arrested on two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary with a deadly weapon. Two firearms were seized.

Simpson has said he was among several people who went to a casino hotel room this week. He said he’d hoped to retrieve some items that belonged to him. He told police no guns were involved.

The deal would put a dent in Mayor Oscar Goodman’s plans to have an arena built downtown with the help of tax breaks, but he said such plans would go forward. The site for the Harrah’s-AEG arena, a block east of the Strip, is in unincorporated Clark County, outside city limits.

AEG, a subsidiary of Denver billionaire and Qwest Communications founder Philip Anschutz’s Anschutz Co., owns the LA Galaxy and the Staples Center in Los Angeles and has booked such acts as Celine Dion and Bette Midler at Caesars Palace. It said it was in talks with professional leagues and potential team owners about bringing hockey or basketball to Las Vegas.

The news of her planning a new casino simply comes from a friend who wishes to not be identified. That source says, “Pammie is interested in several different ventures and is currently leaning towards a themed venue - possibly a casino.”

Pamela Anderson is currently in Las Vegas working as a magician assistant to Hans Klok who runs a magic show on the strip. It was reported earlier this month that the former Baywatch babe was dating Hans.

Pamela is having a panoramic condo suite built in Las Vegas and has extended her contract with Hans to go through December.

Back at the 2006 World series of Poker, Ms Anderson launched her short lived Online Poker site. No word yet on where or not she has the same financial backers for this project if it does indeed turn out to be more than a rumor.
