WARNING SHOTS FIRED AT TWO BOATS IN PERSIAN GULF BY US AMIDST RISING FEARS AND RISING OIL PRICES
BetUS.com Posts Odds on Oil Prices
NEW YORK April 25, 2008 - Oil prices have been fluctuating for almost a year now driving gas prices in the US and elsewhere through the roof. That much is not news. What is news however is the fact that oil prices rose sharply Friday on news that a ship under contract to the U.S. Defense Department fired warning shots at two boats in the Persian Gulf. Retail gas prices as expected rose further into record territory nearing $3.60 a gallon.
With tension and speculation in America rising as exponentially as the prices themselves, the biggest, most accurate and most successful sportsbook on the web, BetUS.com posted odds on just where the ceiling is with regard to oil prices.
“With news of the warning shots being fired spreading, site users and those curious and or worried alike have been flooding our site,” stated BetUS spokesman Reed Richards. “The fact is, people know we are an unbiased, accurate source for predictive information ranging from everything from sports, politics, and international news. We feel obliged to provide accurate, up to the minute information.”

Deputy Finance Minister Jacek Kapica said in late April that the government plans to legalize online gambling by the end of the year. The IMEGA ruling has been returned after months of waiting, the results are mixed but extremely favorable for the Online Gambling Industry! The associated press has published the following.
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — A federal judge has dismissed a challenge to a ban on Internet gambling brought by an online gambling association, but gave the group legal standing to challenge the law in an appellate court.
U.S. District Judge Mary L. Cooper in Trenton determined that the Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association had not shown sufficient cause to order her to block enforcement of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, passed by Congress in 2006. Read the rest

As we fall into the final hours of the WTO decision on the Antigua vs USA case, there has not been a lot of talk about it. We see now Antigua is looking to move forward, as they were granted 21 Million USD in sanctions per year to sell US copyrighted materials. What does this have to do with HD DVD? Well if Toshiba was smart they would already have a footprint of some sort within Antigua, ready to convert all HD movies (INCLUDING BLU-RAY) into the more user friendly and cost effective HD DVD format. Over night sales to Time Warner HD DVD movies at $3 each would put a HD DVD player in almost every home overnight.
Of course I am only suggesting this because yes, I own a HD DVD player and have no reason to go with a Sony product at this time. This strategy of course can work for either side but I think HD DVD with the Internet updates and content blows away Blu.

Well I have no idea what is going on, although I do know SOMTHING is happening! If it was going to be flushed that would have happened months ago, the fact that we are all asking questions and waiting in the dark means there is something going on. Will the WTO settlements fail as the USA pretty much bent the other parties over old Bill’s oval office desk? Will Congress disapprove of allowing the trade sanctions offered from the US side?
I am very happy with waiting as I know something IS in fact going on, I just hope I do not become disappointed in the final results of our bully, nanny, money grabbing system has returned in the past.

Looking at the odds for the Superbowl, New England -12 may have a hard time covering. The Giants are playing fantastic as a team, defense is great and the offence is running well, not fantastic but well. New England has been getting a lot of focus by the NFL obviously after going the entire season without a loss, I think this is a problem for them now as the Giants should see the weaknesses in both offense and defence as we can. Stay on the inside of the defense as the backs play off and outside, put LOTS of pressure on Brady and they should cover easily, if not beat the unbeaten?
Is Tom Brady hurt? Its hard to tell but by the end of the first quarter we should have the answer! Is Manning getting some inside information from Payton? I am a firm believer blood is stronger than sport, and Payton would much rather have New England beaten in the big game than not. Look for a great by the Giants, also look to Bill to put his plans together to stop them.
I think this will be a very interesting Super Bowl, much better matchup than most people really think.

Norway has become the latest European nation to try and block online gambling activity. Its neighbor, Sweden, has also been taking more of a regulatory stance on the activity.
Like the US Government, Norway will hold its financial institutions responsible for policing any transactions related to online gambling sites, including those for online poker.
PokerPages.com reported the possibility of a payment ban for online gambling was mentioned by Culture Minister Trond Giske, when, in reaction to public outcry against the rise in online gambling amongst Norweigans, he said, “We have been monitoring the issue, and are aware of the drastic increase there has been in people turning to help lines and support organisations due to gaming addiction.”
Last week, Sweden carried out a gambling raid on various Internet cafes and clubs throughout the country. Sweden is home to some of the most prominent online gambling venues including Boss Media, Globet and Svenska Spel.
Like most European countries, Sweden is imposing strict conditions on online gaming to prevent gambling addiction, even though Sweden’s first home grown – state-run - poker web site was launched in March. Estimates are that around 200,000 Swedes play poker on the web.

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey: A burst of new, luxurious mega-casino projects to be built by 2012 will transform the face of Atlantic City into a more futuristic — and crowded — gambling resort.
At least four companies are betting a combined $9 billion (€6.1 billion) that the makeover will help Atlantic City catch up with Las Vegas as a place to come — and stay — for more than just gambling.
Revel Entertainment Group unveiled drawings of its new $2 billion (€1.37 billion) casino-resort, to be called simply “Revel.” Due to open in the second half of 2010, at 710 feet, it will be the tallest building in Atlantic City — at least for a while. Read the rest

US Fights WTO Over Internet Gambling
By JIM ABRAMS – 17 hours ago
WASHINGTON (AP) — With time running out, the tiny Caribbean island nation of Antigua and Barbuda holds the cards in a dispute over Internet gambling that could ultimately cost the United States billions of dollars.
If arbitration efforts fail, Antigua and other aggrieved parties, including the European Union, could begin exacting sanctions as early as next month over the U.S. decision to withdraw from a World Trade Organization accord recognizing the legality of Internet gambling.
Antigua is seeking sanctions worth $3.4 billion, and has suggested it might claim that sum by becoming a harbor for pirated intellectual property such as movies and musical recordings. Total sanctions claimed by the EU, India and other countries approach $100 billion, although the United States, in negotiations, contends that appropriate levels of compensation would be far less.
