The heads-up play battle was definitely more than what anyone expected from two amateur poker players. We experienced a mix of experience from watching and damn we could not tell what the final turnout would be.
As Joe Cada came into play with a huge chip advantage we figured play would end fast but Darvin Moon showed what he was made of and took the lead after only 10 hands.
Play was intense and it went on for three hours until we could pronounce Joe Cada the new World Champion. He took home $8.5 million and the bracelet (the money will then have to be shared with Cada’s backer Cliff Josephy).
Joe Cada is now officially the youngest WSOP champion in the history of poker, he broke last year’s record by Peter Eastgate. Cada is sponsored by PokerStars and we will be hearing a lot about the World Champion in the near future.
The final table will be broadcaste on ESPN tonight so don’t miss it.
