Young poker player Harrison Gimbel managed to outplay the entire field of players at the 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in The Bahamas and emerged victorious with a $2.2 million paycheck. With this Gimbel became the youngest PCA winner of all times as he is only 19 years old.
The final table was quite entertaining to follow but the top three came down to Gimbel, Tyler Reiman and 2009 WSOP Europe Main Event Champion Barry Shulman. Shulman had been testing his luck for a while by pishing all-in on several ocassions but he ran out of luck and busted out in 3rd position when his Q T did not improve against Gimbel’s A 9.
Heads-up play was very intense, Reiman came in as the leader but Gimbel turned the tables quickly and held on to the lead until the end. On the final hand Reiman pushed all-in with his pocket eights and Gimbel paused before calling with his T T. The flop completed Gimbel’s set and then the turn also gave Reiman a set. However, the river did not improve any hand and Gimbel took down the title.
Gimbel had been playing a bit of poker in the past as he took down the Florida State Poker Championship in the summer of 2009. He also likes to play online. Congratulations on his winning!
