I know this is a little late on news but I still think it is worth mentioning that there were two remarkable wins at the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE). The first one was by professional poker player Phil Laak and the other one was by another poker pro, Gus Hansen.
Phil Laak recently survived an ATV accident and was playing one-armed at the event. He took down the WSOPE first event, the £2,650 Six-Handed No Limit Hold’em. Heads-up play was against Andrew Pantling and Laak pocketed £170,802 for the win.
Gus Hansen’s victory came a few days later at the £10,000 No Limit Hold’em High Roller Heads-Up tournament. Hansen is a very successful player and he is considered one of the greatest titans of poker, however, he was still missing the gold from his wrist (either WSOP or WSOPE) and the time finally came. Hansen took home one of the five WSOPe bracelets available this year and a prize of £288,409.
Those are the biggest reports on the WSOPE now but I will keep you updated (hopefully on time!) about further developments.
