The 7th season of the highly acclaimed poker TV show High Stakes Poker is in line and the schedule and list of players is starting to form. Earlier news reported that the new main sponsor of the show is PokerStars, so we probably will not be seeing a lot of Full Tilt pros on the set this time.

Other news are that the show will be moved from its usual location, The Golden Nugget, to the Bellagio on The Strip. There will be no media reporting allowed during the three day recording of the show, “We have all of these new players, a new venue, and new elements. It’s a small space. It’s super tight and we just want to focus on the game play,” said a member of the production team.

The hosts will continue to be Gabe Kaplan and Kara Scott, but the audience will definitely be missing out on the action of some of the best Full Tilt Poker pros Phil Ivey, Patrik Anotnius and Tom Dwan. Daniel Negreanu will also not be in the show, as we understood from his Twitter post which read, “Sad news: at airport headed home which means the trip is over 🙁 have a commercial shoot when I land which means no HSP for me this year.”

It is speculated that the list of players will include the following names: Doyle Brunson, Barry Greenstein, Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Galfond, David “Viffer” Peat, Jason Mercier, and Scotty Nguyen.

The new season will air on GSN in February 2011.
